I had been meaning to do Ben Lomond for years, but somehow never quite got around to it. This is not a difficult Munro by any standards, as evidenced by the swarms of people meandering up and down the mountainside – like ants climbing an anthill, or termites on a termite mound.
As we started out, the weather was beautiful: sunshine, not overly warm, and great visibility. A great day for a Munro! It was incredibly muddy at the start of the walk however, and at times felt a bit like we were walking up a river. Aside from that the ascent was straightforward and the views over Loch Lomond were superb.
