Profile

Moving straight from the classroom to the boardroom, Andrew’s career has already made waves globally. And he’s still just 19.

Launching Fat Mouse Productions Ltd when he was 17, Andrew began a startling career in the media industry. Editing film scripts, raising finance, and creating offshoot companies, at its peak and within 12 months, Fat Mouse Productions Ltd had a team comprising of over 15 individuals spread over China, Poland, and the UK.

Merging the design branch at Fat Mouse Productions with Expanding Web, Andrew went on to take on a new role as Business Development Manager at the business, almost tripling turnover and doubling profitability within a year. He puts this success down to, “innovating in a crowded field through great partnerships, great ideas, and great marketing”.

Turning back to Fat Mouse Productions Ltd in July 2009, and seeing a massive opportunity to utilise the growing power and technologies integrated in to our mobile phones, Andrew came up with the idea for i-Showreel. An innovative web and mobile showreel product designed for subtle marketing through networks, both online and offline. i-Showreel launched as a branch of Fat Mouse Productions in partnership with Bloostone Productions in October 2009.

Summer 2009 also saw Andrew engage with Edinburgh start-up Tempus Fugit Concierge where he was just the third member to join the management team. He remained in his role as Business, Marketing and Brand Strategist until December of the same year, when he left to concentrate on other projects.

Upping roots and moving from Edinburgh to Dundee in September 2009, Andrew fulfilled a lifelong ambition to study architecture when he accepted a place at the University of Dundee. When asked about this move Andrew commented; “being a student is great for me. I get the opportunity to gain insights in to life that I otherwise would have missed out on. It can only be a positive thing for my businesses and my clients. I also love architecture”.

2010, will see Expanding Web launch one of Andrew’s latest projects when the new created, Expanding Web Ventures, launches a business networking site with an innovative twist. Speaking about the new project Andrew shed some light on what we can expect:
“Every business, to succeed, needs exposure to potential clients. Companies spend obscene amounts of money on advertising. When I was investigating ideas for a new business networking website I decided to turn this model on its head. Members of our site will receive free advertising in exchange for inviting new contacts, submitting articles, and participating in online activities. This is great for everyone as it actively encourages networking between members. And this is an example of truly utilising the potential of the web, for the benefit of everybody involved.”

With lots more projects in the pipeline for both 2010 and 2011, including another online development from Expanding Web Ventures, this is one story that is far from over.

Andrew is available for consultancy, speaking, writing, business opportunities, and will consider Director roles.
